Credentials
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, working with a range of age groups and clinical presentations. Prior to returning to Simmons to work towards my Masters degree in clinical social work, I worked in high intensity adult DMH psychiatric residential programs, first as a milieu counselor, then Assistant Manager, and finally as Manager of several residential programs (both home-based and apartment-based).
During my training at Simmons, I interned at St. Mark's School in Southboro , MA as a counselor, as well as at the Brookline Community Mental Health Center in Brookline , MA . During the summers while at Simmons, I worked at Addison-Gilbert Hospital inpatient psychiatric unit in Gloucester, MA, first as interim clinical coordinator (securing community-based supports for patients as they were discharged from the unit), and then as a milieu therapist.
I have held my LICSW licensure (Licensed Indpendent Clinical Social Worker) since satisfying the requirements of supervised hours of clinical practice and the passing of an exam, on September 23, 1996. My Massachusetts license number is #1027213.
After Simmons, I worked as a Youth Outreach Worker in Wakefield, MA schools and at a court-ordered substance abuse group in Malden , MA . I also worked as a psychiatric crisis clinician. Both of these positions were at Eastern Middlesex Human Services in Wakefield , MA .
I then worked for several years at North Essex Mental Health Services in Newburyport and Haverhill, MA as a psychiatric crisis clinician, then as director of the psychiatric crisis services. During this time I also worked as a fee-for-service clinician through their outpatient clinic.
Since then, I have maintained my licensure, and worked towards admission to the CG Jung Institute in Boston , which I achieved in 2005. This is a training program which leads to a diplomate in analytical psychology. One of the requirements for admission to this program is the completion of 100 hours of psychoanalysis with a Jungian analyst. An ongoing requirement of training is (at least) weekly psychoanalysis with a Jungian analyst. With several hundred hours of experience as an analysand, I have extensive experience on both sides of the psychotherapeutic dyad.
